Carole Zoom

Carole Zoom was born with congenital muscular dystrophy and uses a ventilator and electric scooter to get around. Carole is trained as a community organizer and has been involved in the disability rights movement since the 1980s. As Executive Director of the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, Carole helped organize the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Air Carrier Access Act and other national legislation. Carole was the International Leadership Exchange Coordinator for Mobility International USA. In the last 4 years she has traveled to 30 countries. Carole has been interviewed by National Public Radio regarding international travel issues and has written on travel and disability for the Washington Post, AARP, and New Mobility.
